Angel Hour: From First Meeting to Fit-for-Purpose Due Diligence

This interactive workshop is designed to walk members through the early stages of our investment process. We’ll start with the first syndicate meeting, where interested members meet with founders and their team to begin building rapport, understand the opportunity, and outline the next steps for due diligence (DD).

We’ll then explore how to tailor DD to the stage and type of business, discussing the right level of scrutiny for early-stage ventures. Using case examples, we’ll look at DD approaches for common business models in our deal flow, such as marketplaces, SaaS, software/hardware hybrids, and medical devices.

We’ll also unpack the challenges of assessing businesses without customers or proven products, and share strategies for identifying and mitigating the unavoidable risks that come with the unknown.
